The first few weeks of breastfeeding can be very trying times--but rest assured that with the proper support you can do it. Please don't be a martyr! Oftentimes a simple suggestion is all it takes to make your life MUCH easier. Most moms need extra support during this early period of adjustment (it will get better!); other moms may find they need help later on, when going back to work or dealing with other issues that may arise.

If you have ANY questions or concerns, if it is painful to nurse your baby, if you are "hooked" on nipple shields, if baby is gaining weight slowly or not at all, please don't spend another day worrying or wondering. I can address all the common concerns, check your baby's latch, and provide simple, helpful adjustments to immediately relieve your discomfort and promote a successful breastfeeding relationship. I can also help you identify the more serious medical concerns, and provide one-on-one counsultations to address your needs.

PLEASE don't wait until you feel like giving up to ask for help! I am infinitely less expensive than the cost of formula-feeding your baby. Invest in your breastfeeding relationship now, and your child will be rewarded with improved health and vitality for a lifetime.

In order to get the most from your session, please try to schedule so that your baby is ready to nurse during your appointment time (without being overly hungry and frustrated!). We say this knowing full well that it is difficult to plan with a newborn. Just do your best.
